Yesterday, while wandering through Daniel Boone National Forest, I ended up in Bee Rock Campground on the banks of the Rockcastle River. It's one of those small campgrounds that the Forest Service classes as “primitive” (no electricity, no running water) and at $4 a night, they work great for me.

Another good find. Next time I'm NW Ga try FDR State Park. Really nice, but expensive for us $30.
