White Mountain National Forest

I've spent the last few days cruising around the White Mountain National National Forest and the small towns in New Hampshire's mountain region. I drove the "loop" (check out MapShare), stopped at lots of overlooks, took a couple of short hikes, tracked down some covered bridges, and gave two "tours" of the van - it short, I did what I always do. Tough job, but somebody needs to do it!

Lunch stop
Beaver Pond, but the Beavers must have been on vacation
The "no name" bridge - because I didn't write the name down
Swiftwater Bridge - built 1849
Bath Bridge - built 1832
Another view of the Bath Bridge, one of the longest covered bridges I've seen
Haverhill ~ Bath Bridge - built 1829
Pine Stand Lake
Russell Pond, where I'm camped

The covered bridges are really interesting. And the fact they have stood up since the 1800's is amazing, Beautiful pictures as usual. I know how much you enjoy what you are doing. It is wonderful to put this on the blog for all of us to see things we probably never would even know about. Thank you Steve.
Taking any time to jump into any of those lovely ponds? I was scrub-a dub-dubbin' the pool today!!
