Meandering Maine

An easy sixty miles today and I'm spending the night overlooking the Maine coast just outside Camden. On the way to the coast I almost missed the little sign for the Liberty Tool Company, but a quick u-turn and I found myself wandering through a collection of old hand tools that could have been a museum, except that all this "stuff" was for sale.

Parked behind the store was the delivery truck
Next door, the historic octagon-shaped former U.S. post office built in 1870

After Liberty I cruised on down to Camden, walked a trail at the campground and then drove into town for lunch and a walk around the harbor.

View of Camden from Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park where I'm camped
The harbor - a mix of yachts, sailboats and commercial fishing boats

  1. Stayed in that park years ago. Good pancake house in the street that leads down to the harbor. Used to be owned by a man from Lake Lure NC.
