Susquehanna River

Spent most of today along the banks of the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania - driving US Route 11 and walking in several small parks. I'm now in Wilkes-Barre. Nice lazy day and it even got to the mid 60s with lots of sun - which was a nice improvement over yesterday.

Beautiful!!!
The Susquehanna is dear to my heart. I lived one block from the river while in Harrisburg for about 12 years, and in the summer, my Lab with me on my ski would paddle after work until sunset. The river is known to be "one mile wide and one foot deep" in the Harrisburg area, with lots of wooded islands to explore. It was my summer escape from the city. I may stop by again on my way north, thx for the reminder :)

Hey Terri - Glad you noticed the blog was active again. How far East are you heading on your trip? Travel safe, maybe our paths will cross.
Must be in DC area for wedding on June 18th, little side trip to Bahamas to dive, then in July will be heading to the Adirondacks, perhaps VT, eventually to Ottawa to paddle canals and bike paths and explore that city for a week, then north of the Great Lakes and down thru the midwestern states again by September when hopefully the scenic rivers will be navigable. Stay in touch, our paths may cross, and by the way, you owe me a dinner :)
Re: Dinner, haven't forgotten.
Hi Steve: I was born in Wilkes-Barre way back when. LOL. I saw the river many times as I also lived in Berwick and went to school with the daughter of the owners of the WISE Potato chip company. Before moving to Ohio.
