And They Keep On Coming

We've crossed into Oregon, still on US101, heading south along the coast and the stunning views just keep on coming. We walked the beaches, learned more about Lewis and Clark at the vistor center outside Astoria, and toured a cheese factory in Tillamook.

The "Corps of Discovery" (better know as the Lewis and Clark Expedition) culminated when Lewis and Clark reached the Pacific Ocean (west of present day Astoria) after a two year journey that started in St. Louis in 1804. We've now crossed the Lewis and Clark Trail three times on our "little expedition".

I am glad you found the ice cream there. Sounds good to me too. Are there a lot of cattle there to get the raw material to make the cheese and all the other products? . Did you visit the cafe and try all the different ice cream treats?
They have yogurt and all kinds of dairy things. Amazing but you already know that.
I see you got a good bit of history on Lewis & Clark. I love the sunset, reminds me of ST.Croix.
Thank youi.

Tillamook County is a BIG dairy area. The cheese/ice cream plant receives almost 2 MILLION gallons of milk each day.
Just checked Mapshare and I am happy to see that it is working for me again. I enjoy following.
