Happy July 4th

From Vadez, Alaska - Uncle Salmon sends his greetings!

 

We celebrated a small town 4th in Valdez. Parade - two police cars, three fire trucks, lots of kids on bikes, all the local costumed mascots, and two antique cars. A comunity pinic. Entertainment down by the waterfront. And fireworks over the harbor - it was the best little fireworks display I've seen in a long time - helped out by a couple unique factors: it was 10:00 at night and still wasn't dark and the snowcaped mountain background.
