Day One

Well, the big Alaska trip has started - but first, a little detour to the east before the westward trek, which, I guess, is appropriate because I really do like to Take The Long Way. I left Bardstown today and I'm overnighting in a Walmart parking lot just down the road from the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. Had a pretty nice day and managed to get a couple of short walks in. Tomorrow it's on to Asheville, NC. where I'll be getting the van serviced and Don will join me for the trip. Really excited!
